Mechanical Designer for the Future of Robot Applications at RSP

Do you want to work with the future products for industrial robots at a family-oriented company characterized by community, modern leadership, and exciting product development? We are in an expansive phase, and our products are in demand worldwide as the number and applications of industrial robots increase. This summer, we are moving to new, beautiful premises, still in our lovely Västerås. A warm welcome to us at Robot System Products.

Robot System Products develops, manufactures, and sells equipment for robot-based industrial automation. Our world-leading products make industrial robots more flexible, safer, and minimize maintenance on our customers' production lines.

Your role with us: As a Mechanical Designer, you will develop and design mechanical components and complete tool systems tailored for industrial robots. You will work with the entire chain from requirements specification and concept development to finished product. You will also have the opportunity to design electrical schematics, so it’s great if you have an interest or previous experience in industrial cabling and connectors. The role involves close collaboration with other designers, electronics developers, and testing to ensure high-quality solutions.

Examples of tasks:

  • Design in Solid Works, primarily details in steel, aluminum, and plastic, where tolerance requirements are high.
  • Conduct strength calculations of constructions.
  • Assist in creating prototypes in our workshop/lab and conduct strength tests and lifespan tests on these.
  • Develop innovative solutions for entirely new products and modernize existing products.
  • Collaborate with other engineers in projects.
  • Maintain contact with suppliers, such as robots, cables, transmission media, pins, sleeves, etc., to ensure that your design is as good and cost-effective as possible.
  • Contribute to improvements in our working methods and processes together with the team.
  • Keep up with technological developments and monitor industry news to always stay at the forefront.

Who are you? We are looking for someone who is a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree engineer with a genuine technical interest and at least five years of experience in mechanical design. We would like you to have experience in strength calculations or an interest in working more with it. Experience in designing components with strict tolerances and measurements is a merit. If you also have experience with industrial cables/connectors and DraftSight, that’s a plus. However, it is not a requirement, but you should have an interest in learning.

You thrive in a smaller company where you have the opportunity to share your knowledge and commitment. We have a lot of expertise and experience, and you look forward to being part of the knowledge we have built up at RSP. You have an analytical and structured approach to identifying and solving technical challenges, and you are open to new ideas and solutions. With us, it is an unpretentious environment where we help each other, and everyone contributes to a family-like corporate culture with short decision-making paths and proximity to our customers.

A warm welcome to the team at Robot Product Systems!

Welcome with your application! In this assignment, we collaborate with Skills Recruitment. Apply for the position by April 6 via www.skillsrekrytering.se (http://www.skillsrekrytering.se/). You are warmly welcome to contact Annika Frii at 070 – 33 55 290 with any questions.
